Haddon Fire Co. No. 1, along with neighboring mutual aid fire departments, responded to a house fire at 282 Lake St. in Haddonfield earlier today. The fire was reported at approximately 10:30 am by a neighbor. Firefighters extinguished the fire and the majority of the damage was limited to the kitchen and dining area. The owner and several small children who reside at the residence were not home at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshall's Office. Haddon Fire Co. was assisted by firefighters from Cherry Hill, Westmont, and Audubon as part of a regional task force that is automatically dispatched to reported building and dwelling fires.
